3rd Jetpens haul

For my 3rd Jetpens order I limited myself to the bare minimum in order to qualify for free shipping. What you see pictured here is not the full order because I also bought a couple of liquid ink pens for my wife but those are not the subject of this blog so I left them out from the photo.

The two main items that I'm rather excited about are: a bottle of Waterman Havana Brown ink and a Kaweco Sport Classic clear demonstrator fountain pen with B (bold) nib.

I had heard good things about this particular ink and I wanted to get a whole bottle for myself. As for the Kaweco pen, the bold nibs had been out of stock for some time and I kept looking out for them and when they became available I placed my order.

I can already say that I'm impressed with this inexpensive fountain pen but an in-depth review is forthcoming so stay tuned for that.

One final word: I think that Jetpens' minimum $25 per order for free shipping is kick ass!

2nd Jetpens haul

My second Jetpens haul was a smaller one. This one also happened at the end of last year but I only got the chance to blog about it now.

First there's a Pilot Parallel calligraphy pen, with a 2.4mm nib. The Parallel is a very interesting pen with an unique nib design. The tines are actually two plates that are almost touching and this ensures very good ink flow between them.

Then there's a Sailor HighAce Neo fountain pen with an F (Fine) nib. This is a beginner pen from Sailor and I wanted a green one so I could match it with green ink. I also got a converter for the Neo. Ironically, the converter is half the cost of the fountain pen.

Finally, I bought a set of 12 color cartridges for the Pilot Parallel pen.

1st Jetpens haul

JetPens was the store that started the pen & ink craziness for me. I came across them on an un-related site that I read regularly and the author of the article was fascinated by the multitude of Japanese stuff carried by them.

I started browsing the site and was also amazed at the wonderful stationery products the Japanese make. After reading many reviews and checking the dozens of pen and ink specs on the site, I placed the following order and received my first Jetpens haul. This was last year in December but I feel like I have to talk about it since I just started this blog.

Moving from left to right, I have the following:

Pilot Prera fountain pen, yellow body and M (medium) nib.
Pilot CON-50 piston converter for the Prera.

Lamy AL Star fountain pen, aluminum body and EF (extra fine) nib.
Lamy Z 24 piston converter for the above.

Noodler's Apache Turquoise ink, 3oz bottle.
Noodler's Heart of Darkness ink, 4.5oz bottle. Not pictured is the free Platinum Preppy pen that Noodler is including with all 4.5oz bottles.

Finally, a bunch of Platinum Preppy fountain pens in various colors: violet, yellow and green. The yellow has a fine nib while the others are medium.

If you're wondering at the yellow Pilot, I decided that I really liked how this color looked in photos and I wanted to use it with an equally bright ink so that's why I got the Noodler's Navajo Turquoise. Yeah, I know, crazy combination. On the other hand, I thought the black ink should match the Lamy well.

This was just an outline of my first significant purchase of pens and inks but I will be reviewing all the above as soon as time permits. Stay tuned!
